Western Regionals Results for Hawaii Wrestling Academy

Coach Rob and Coach Ku`u took two wrestlers to Western Regionals in Las Vegas, Nevada April 24 - 28, Jamie Grilho and Gabriel Grilho. Although we didn’t finish with the hardware and wins that we had desired, we did learn alot about what areas we need to work on to have the success we want. The most important lesson we learned is expectation vs preparation. In our training, we failed to set goals, and to put any expectations on ourselves, and thus we didn’t prepare as well as we should have. We can’t even begin to express how many wrestlers we have taken to the mainland for competition that have learned this lesson. However, most of the time, it takes the first trip for them to learn their lesson, and then prepare properly for their next one. We are confident that these wrestlers learned valuables lessons, and are proud of the wrestlers that emerged from 5 days straight of long days and competitive wrestling.
